• Currently caring for 25 retired horses with over 70 horses on the
waiting list
• Total operating budget for 2008 was $124,830 and in 2009 is $117,500
• Awarded the Connecticut Horse Farm of Environmental Distinction (H.E.A.P.)

• We subscribe to the “Basic Guidelines for Operating an Equine Rescue
or Retirement Facility” laid down jointly by the Doris Day Animal League and the Animal Welfare Institute. MFER, Inc. also subscribes to the AAEP Care Guidelines for Rescue and Retirement Facilities.
• We have applied to the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries for acreditation.
